Rosewood essential oil or 'bois de rose' as it is also known is a tropical tree growing wild in the Amazon basin.

It has a sweet-woody, floral-nutmeg aroma that finds extensive use in fantasy-type perfumes and colognes.

Used in an oil burner, a few drops in the bath or blended as a massage oil or cream, rosewood oil can help with colds, coughs, fevers, infections, headaches, nervous tension, nausea and stress-related problems whilst also lifting depression and helping to counter any sexual problems including impotency.

Rosewood can also stimulate skin cells and help regenerate tissue, rejuvenating the skin which makes it particularly attractive for use with more mature complexions and/or wrinkles.

The therapeutic properties of rosewood oil include anti-depressant, mildly antiseptic, aphrodisiac, bactericidal, deodorant, insecticide and stimulant.
